Troubleshooting Component Defects in a Press Shop
Date : 24 to 25 May, 2022
Venue : IMTMA Technology Centre, Pune

INTRODUCTION

In a Press Shop, multiple production runs are carried out for stamping a number of sheet metal components. Each component requires a number of dies running on multiple presses. For each run, die setups are changed and various parameters are set. Although the dies are proven and productionized, there are some variables which could differ from batch to batch, resulting in the first few components not meeting the required quality requirement. Press Shop personnel often have to fine tune some settings to get the desired results. This is sometimes tricky and valuable time & material gets wasted in the whole process. In some cases, dies suffer damage due to manual errors and repairs have to be carried out on a war footing. This calls for specialized skills which are not always available readily at hand. To carry out such specialized maintenance, IDR approach is followed in press shops.

What is IDR approach ? IDR- it's a three leap scientific approach to trouble shooting of component defects in press shop.

I-Identify

D-Diagnose

R-Resolve

Keeping this in view, IMTMA is organizing an offline / classroom training on IDR Approach for Troubleshooting Component Defects in a Press Shop.
