Programmable Logic controller (PLC) is an Electronic hardware/device used for automating electro-mechanical / mechatronics equipment in every manufacturing industries. PLC is a specialized computer used to control machines and process. It has feature to store instructions and specific functions that include On/Off control, timing, counting, sequencing, arithmetic and data handling.
PLC is called 'The Work Horse' and or brain of any system, represents a key driver in automation. Today, PLC has become a very widely used and accepted tool across the product segment for automation in various Machines, Processes, Shop floor, and Utilities etc.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising an online training on PLC - A Key Technology for Industrial Automation.

Ms. K. Lakshmi Kumari has done her BE in electronics and communication and Worked in HMT Machine Tools Limited, Bangalore for 36 years, in various levels from Engineer Trainee to DGM (D & D). She has involved in Design & Development of various SPMs, Conventional machines, CNC Turning machines, CNC Grinding machines, Horizontal and Vertical Machining centers, Flow Forming Lathe etc. Also Experienced in Reconditioning-Upgradation of Conventional Machines to CNC Machines. She has trained many New Engineers, Graduate Apprentice Trainees and Customers on Relay Logic design, Introduction to CNC system and drives and PLC programming.
