INTRODUCTION
 

Wanting to look attractive and presentable is a unique feature of the human race. Industrial designs play a crucial role in enhancing the visual appeal and commercial value of products in competitive markets. In India, design protection serves as an important component of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), safeguarding the aesthetic features of an article and encouraging innovation in the industrial sector.

This training program aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Indian design law, its practical application to the manufacturing industry, and its interface with other branches of IPR such as copyright and patents. The session will focus on equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills required to identify, protect, and enforce their industrial design rights effectively.

Keeping in this veiw, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association is orgranising a training program on Design Protection In Manufacturing : Preventing IP Theft and Imitation.

Mr. Devanshu Khanna, Patent Attorney & IP Law Specialist

He has completed Information Technology and Law, and an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School (U.S.). He is a registered Patent Agent and Intellectual Property Attorney with extensive experience in patent and design prosecution, litigation, and advisory. He has advised several government departments on key IP policy issues, including the ‘Patentability of Computer Related Inventions’ and ‘Working of Patents in India’. He also assisted the Think Tank that drafted India’s first National IPR Policy.  He also regularly conducts training sessions for industry and academia on patents, designs, and IP enforcement.

Mr. Nagraj Hamilpure - IMTMA

A law graduate (LLB) currently working as a Senior Executive Officer at IMTMA, Nagraj brings a unique blend of techno-legal expertise with a strong focus on Intellectual Property management. He is actively involved in designing and conducting training programmes.
