Quick changeover techniques (SMED) in Discrete Manufacturing
Date : 9 to 10 April, 2026
Venue : IMTMA Technology Centre, Bengaluru

LAST DATE FOR REGISTRATION 02 April 2026
INTRODUCTION

In this time of uncertainty only agile companies will survive. Agility in terms of shortest delivery time with minimum inventory is the name of the game. The concept of Minimum Order Quantity or MOQ has fallen by the wayside. Customers decide when they want and in what quantities and are unwilling to pay more for this service. Hence the focus on quick changeover or set-up change is like never before. The manufacturers must have the ability to produce smaller batch quantities and deliver them more quickly. They must be able to utilize equipment for as many different parts as possible.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organizing a training program on Quick changeover techniques through SMED principles.
