Defects Analysis of Paint & Powder Coating Applications

Defects Analysis of Paint & Powder Coating Applications

Date : 8 to 9 May, 2018   Location / Mode : Bangalore

INTRODUCTION

In today’s manufacturing scenario, where shortage of raw material, power & increasing pressure to reduce costs are the order of the day, ‘Painting / Coating application’ is possibly the most troubled issue. While we are nearly at par with global standards in metal working, we definitely lack in finishing and Powder Coating Applications operations. The stark difference is visible when it comes to exporting our goods. Lack of knowledge in Defect Analysis especially in painting / powder coating and Buck passing between paint or powder suppliers vs equipment suppliers lead to high rework and rejection rates.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising a 2 day programme onDefects Analysis of Paint & Powder Coating Applications on 8 - 9 May 2018 at Bangalore.

  • Paint  Film Defects, Root Causes and Remedies
  • Basics of Paints / Coatings
  • Types & Importance of Pretreatment before Paint / Coatings applications & their types
  • Basics of Paint / Coatings Spray Applications, Paint Spray Techniques
  • Paint Application Techniques, How to improve the transfer efficiency
  • Quality Control  / Quality Assurance
  • Shelf life, storage and safety aspects
  • Disposal of paints and media
  • How to read the specifications
  • Case studies from engineering industries
  • Group discussion and presentation

After undergoing the programme, the participants will be able to -

  • Have a stronger ability to do in-depth Root Cause Analysis of the recurring defects
  • Understand correct process sequence and the SOPs involved
  • Reduced Rejection rates & Rework in paint shops
  • Participants are encouraged to bring with them samples/ photos and information of defects, which can be discussed in this interactive workshop with a view to find possible solutions
  • This programme will benefit paint-shop engineers and senior technical personnel involved in the functions of Process Planning, Product Application engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, etc., and other related areas from Automobile & auto ancillaries, Defence and Railway establishments, General Engineering and other Capital goods manufacturing industries. All users of powder and paint coatings as well as suppliers of painting equipment and materials.
