INTRODUCTION

The design of fixtures is key to the effective utilization of machine tools. Fixtures are economical ways to set up / hold a workpiece or a job to be machined and produce them in the right manner and in mass quantity. Fixtures, if not designed properly, and if not implemented correctly, results in poor productivity & quality issues in the final product. Set-up time and cycle time reduction increased accuracy on components, and deskilling the job setting operation are the obvious advantages of a good fixture. Competence in designing the right fixture differentiates excellent organizations. Hence good knowledge of the principles to be followed for designing fixtures is essential. The course is structured with an introduction to Machining Fixture Design basics, and a complete design process right up to the final design.

The program will be highly interactive and is aimed at providing a 360° view of all types of fixture design aspects.
