Industrial Safety - Shopfloor Perspective

Industrial Safety - Shopfloor Perspective

Date : 2 to 3 February, 2023   Time : 1340 Hrs to 1700 Hrs   Location / Mode : Online

Safety is of paramount importance in every walk of life. While unsafe conditions exist in every activity, the potential for accidents are more in the case of Vocational trades. The safety aspects and features should be considered from the design stage itself to create a safe work environment while erecting manufacturing equipment.

‘Accidents do not happen but they are caused’. Therefore the elimination of causes is in the control of operating personnel. Adhering to safe work practices is the responsibility of every individual in the industry. Safe work practices should be developed as a matter of habit rather than compulsion. Safe working is also related to the attitude of a person. Psychologists relate the safe working habits to the attitude or behavior of the persons. Therefore, the training on safety is a continuous process.

Keeping this in mind, IMTMA is conducting an online program on Industrial safety.

  • The direct and indirect impact of accidents
  • Hierarchy of Safety
  • Various terminologies used in the context of Safety
  • Material handling safety
  • Shop floor safety
  • Chemical safety
  • Personal safety
  • Electrical safety
  • Hazard identification and Risk Assessment
  • Tool Box talk

  • LOTO Systems
  • Safety aspects related to Portable Power Tools
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Fire safety
  • Brief details about statutory requirements.

At the end of the programme, the participants would acquire a fair knowledge about the following:

  • Get a fair idea on Industrial safety
  • Terminologies used in safety
  • Understand area specific safety practices
  • Equipment guarding
  • Statutory regulations
  • First response practices in case of any hazards.

Safety professionals involved in Industrial safety practices, Production / maintenance professionals, New hires in any manufacturing organization.

This program will be delivered by Mr. S H Upadhya.
