INTRODUCTION

In order to comply with ever-tightening emission norms and to provide higher mileage, higher pickup and higher payload Light-Weighting of vehicles have become inevitable.

Light-weighting is done for: Body-In-White (BIW), substructure, engine & transmission elements, bought out aggregates right down to fasteners. Diverse Technologies and choice of materials ranging from sheet metal to cast and forged items are used in Light-Weighting. 

In order to present a holistic overview of new technologies and materials which have become current and near-future industry trend.

Keeping this in view Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising a six-hour online programme on Light-Weighting of Automobiles.

This Program will be conducted by Mr. Avinash Khare and Mr Peter Karch.

Mr. Avinash Khare, is presently working as a Consultant Head for IMTMA Pune Technology Centre for the last 5 years. He has been designing, developing content, and delivering wide range of Training programs as a Faculty. He is an Electrical Engineer by Qualification and has worked for over 33 years at Tata Motors Pune in various capacities ranging from R&D, Industrial Electronics, Machine Maintenance, Technology Procurement, Head of Machine Shop, Tool Room Shop Head, Head of Die Design and as a Champion in Business Excellence. He has taught Instrumentation and Bio-Medical Instrumentation at Pune University as a part-time faculty.

The program shall be co-delivered by Mr. Peter Karch, who has more than 25 years of experience in production engineering and plant construction. He develops technical solutions for customers worldwide in the field of cold forming of metals. He is a Graduate Engineer and Technical Trainer at FELSS in Germany.

Prior registration with an online advance payment is must. Number of participants is limited and will be accepted on ‘First Come First Serve’ basis. A Certificate of participation will be issued to participants.
