Last date for registration 02 June 2026
INTRODUCTION

In the current manufacturing landscape, productivity improvement, cycle time reduction, accuracy, and consistent quality are key drivers for competitiveness. Achieving these objectives requires strong fundamentals in work holding, machining practices, and CNC programming, along with awareness of modern manufacturing systems and quality tools.

This 2-Day Open House Training Program, is designed to provide practical, industry-relevant exposure to CNC programming and essential manufacturing practices. The program blends conceptual clarity with hands-on demonstrations, enabling participants to understand real shop-floor challenges and best practices.

  • Selection of cutting parameters
  • Understanding preparatory Commands
  • MCS & WCS
  • ISO codification of Engineering materials
  • CNC machine construction, axes, and coordinate systems
  • CNC machine operation, safety, and standard practices
  • Introduction to G-codes, M-codes, and programming structure
  • Exercises on CNC Programming
  • CNC program development for VMC operations
  • Tool and workpiece setup on CNC machines
  • Program entry, editing, verification, and simulation
  • Cycle time calculation and machining optimization
  • Fineries of machining and quality improvement practices
  • ISO Canned drilling Cycles
  • Exercises on writing CNC Programming
  • Live demo on CNC Machine

After completing the program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand effective programming skills
  • Operate CNC machining centres with confidence
  • Create, simulate, and execute CNC programs for VMCs
  • Perform tool setting and work offset calibration
  • Apply cycle time reduction techniques on the shop floor

This Open House Training Program is suitable for:

  • Machine shop engineers and supervisors
  • CNC operators and technicians
  • Diploma and graduate engineering students
  • Fresh engineers aspiring to build a career in CNC machining

This program is conducted by Mr. Preetham B M and Dr. Vishwas Grover.

Mr. Preetham B M, is a highly experienced manufacturing professional with over 24 years of industry experience in the production of precision components for Nuclear, Aerospace, and Automation industries. He possesses strong expertise in CNC machining, CAD/CAM, CMM, and application of GD&T principles for high-precision manufacturing. He has trained more than 1,500 engineers and successfully conducted 30+ Finishing School batches, delivering structured skill-development programs for professionals from leading organizations such as TVS, Ceratizit India, Ashok Leyland, and Kennametal. Prior to joining IMTMA, he worked with Avasarala Technologies Limited as Assistant Manager, contributing to prestigious projects including Centre for Advanced Technology (BIGBANG test) and ITER (France). He also gained international exposure through a one-year deputation at Kimberly-Clark Corporation's KIMTECH plant in Neenah, Wisconsin (USA). At IMTMA, in his role as

Assistant Director, he is actively involved in delivering hands-on, industry-focused training programs for manufacturing professionals.

Dr. Vishwas Grover, Ph.D. is an experienced educator and manufacturing professional with over 12 years of teaching, training, and industry experience in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and has been actively involved in teaching core manufacturing subjects, mentoring students, and delivering hands-on training programs in areas such as CNC machining, advanced manufacturing, fabrication, and shop-floor practices. He has trained a large number of students, engineers, and corporate professionals through structured academic programs, skill-development initiatives, and industry-oriented training sessions, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical manufacturing applications.
