Online Training on Dimensional Tolerance and GD&T - Industry Perspective (Only for Engineering Students & Faculties)

Focus Areas

  • Limits of size
  • Tolerance and its types
  • Fundamental deviation
  • Fits and kinds of fits
  • International tolerance grade
  • Introduction to GD&T
  • Different parameters of GD&T

Background

In mechanical engineering, limits, fits are a set of rules regarding the dimensions and tolerances of mating mechanical parts, if they are to achieve the desired ease of assembly and secure after assembly. Hence, limits, fits and tolerance are the very important parts of designing and manufacturing.
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is a system for defining and communicating engineering tolerances. It uses a symbolic language on engineering drawings. That explicitly describe nominal geometry and its allowable variation.
Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising a 3 hours online programme on “Dimensional Tolerance and GD&T-Practical Approach” on 19 June 2020.

Key Takeaways

After undergoing the programme, the participants will be able to -

  • Understand what are limits of size
  • Know about tolerance
  • Understand what is fit, why different type of fit are required
  • Read IT grade
  • GD&T and its parameters
