INTRODUCTION

The Automobile and Manufacturing industry is going for continuous change and this change is the result of customer demands as well as new environmental norms. Manufacturing being at the core of this, contributes a major share in engineering and efficient production of components or assemblies. Manufacturing industry right from ideas till the ready to use components making, going through huge challenges related to productivity, efficient people skilling, product designing, processes designing or manufacturing. If we reduce or eliminate these challenges so called as “problems” then it will directly impact on the quality of products, customer satisfaction and overall productivity of an organizations.

This workshop will impart the basic learning on Problems, Types of problem, Problem solving ways, particular focus on 8D methodology, execution strategy and hands on experience to solve the workplace problems.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association is organizing a training program on “Problem-Solving Tools for Securing our Present & Future”.


  • Problems & Problem-solving concepts
  • Problem solving ways and various inhibitors
  • 8D methodology
  • Live Problem solving using 8D methodology

After this workshop, participants will:

  • have understanding of problem-solving process
  • be able to explain the purpose of each D in the process
  • be able to apply problem solving tools in the process
  • be able to solve problems and ensure no recurrence.

This programme will benefit to the plant functional teams including Plant Managers, Production Managers, Maintenance Managers, Quality Managers, New Product Development teams, Process Developments, Supervisors, Machine Operators and everyone who is interested to solve the shop floor related problems.

The programme will be highly interactive, co-creating the problem-solving approach, and using adult learning principles.

This programme will be conducted by, IMTMA Subject Matter Expert.

Prior registration for participation is necessary. Number of participants is limited and will be accepted on ‘First Come First Serve’ basis. A Certificate of participation will be issued to participants.
